The U.S. and World War II

 

 

     57 years after the end of World War Ii, the U.S. still has troops in Germany, Italy and Japan, the countries it defeated in the war.

 

     From a peak of 277,342 in Europe, the plan is to reduce its troops in Germany to 20,000 in 2012; a cavalry brigade in Germany and an airborne brigand in Italy.
